Vitamins, Supplements and Prenatals

There are several different vitamin supplements out there on the market. Some are overpriced and and some are economically feasible to support your pet’s needs. Always pick something that suits your needs and is within your budget.

You must also take your breed of dog and the sex under consideration. If you have a female dog and you are interested in breeding her, you may want to look into some prenatal vitamins, like Breeder’s Edge Oxymate and Oxymomma, which are designed for pregnancy and nursing.

If you have a large breed dog that may one have hip and joint issues later in life, I highly suggest doing preventive maintenance by administering a hip and joint supplement.

Just like our children who require a multivitamin to ensure that they receive the necessary vitamins that may be lost in regular food consumption, Infamous Team Reed Bullies believes in starting our dogs on a daily vitamin early on in their lives.

From the Bully Max to the NuVet Vitamins, I’ve tried some of the popular expensive products. Many of the vitamins that our dogs need like the Omegas can be found in Fish Oils and other products. I’ve learned that you don’t always have to spend big bucks to get the same results, and some of the pricey products are manufactured and contain the exact same ingredients as lower price alternatives.

Infamous Team Reed Bullies uses the economically reasonable multivitamin and hip and joint solutions  from Prosense that you can get at your local Walmart. But, we cut no corners when it comes to prenatal and nursing needs. We spend the extra and go with Breeder’s Edge products. We use the Oxy Mate one month before our dam goes into her heat cycle and during her entire pregnancy. At the moment of delivery, we switch to the Oxy Momma to help to replenish her depleted vitamins and to help produce milk for her puppies.

These products are NOT some magic potion that will transform your dog into something that is not genetically available in their DNA — no matter what the manufacturer tells you. These products are only used as supplements and to help maximize what’s already in your dogs genetic make-up. Selective breeding, exercise, health testing, regular check ups from a veterinarian that is familiar with your breed, and a good nutritional meal are the first defenses to a long healthy life.

Disclaimer: Infamous Team Reed Bullies request that you consult a professional veterinarian — before you try our advice — to see if these products are suitable for your pets needs.
